Sorry Mom

I have a confession to make.

During the trip to Singapore I had this curiosity that how physically strong my parents were. My mom is 65 and my dad is now 75. And It was the reason I accompanied them to my cousin’s wedding in Singapore in the first place.

So on the way back to Thailand airport on Sunday night, I devilishly got the answer.

While we were waiting at baggage claim belts, I saw my parents’ luggage riding toward us. Normally I would rush and be the one that carried it to a cart. This time I just wanted to know.

So I didn’t rush to it and it was both of my parents who spotted the baggage and tried their best to pull and carry this 20 KG piece. I was watching with my heart beating fast.

My dad tried and I think he underestimated the weight of the luggage. So he couldn’t even pull it up right. But it was my mom who subverted my curiosity. She was able to hold it up and dragged the bag to me — agilely. At me holding laughs and pretending not seeing them carrying the heavy load, my mom, instead, was cackling with glee. She said:

Mom “See? Your father couldn’t hold it but I can easily”

Now I know how strong my parents are. But sorry ma.

ผมขอสารภาพผิดครับ

ครั้นเมื่อตอนที่ไปสิงค์โปร์นั้น ผมมีความสงสัยมาซักพักแล้วว่า ป๊ากับม้า ของผมยังแข็งแรงกันดีหรือไม่ คุณแม่ผมอายุ 65 และพ่อก็อายุตอนนี้ 75 แล้วก็นั่นก็คือเหตุผลที่ผมต้องพาป๊ากับม้าไปสิงคโปร์ นะครับ

ขากลับมาที่เมืองไทย ในคือวันอาทิตย์ ผมก็ได้คำตอบ

ในขณะที่กำลังรอกระเป๋าที่สายพานลำเลียงกระเป๋าขาเข้า ผมก็เห็นแล้วละว่ากระเป๋าของป๊ากับมากำลังไหลมาทางที่ผมอยู่ ปกติแล้วผมก็จะแจ๊นไปหิ้วกระเป๋าทันที แต่ครั้งนี้ผมอยากรู้จริงๆครับ

ดังนั้น ผมจีงไม่รีบไปที่กระเป๋า แต่ป๊ากับม๊าเห็นกระเป๋าปุ๊บก็วิ่งไปหาทันที พร้อมกับพยายามที่จะยกส่ิงของชิ้นหนี่งที่หนักร่วม 20 กิโล ผมก็มองด้วยใจเต้นแรง

ป๊าพยายามแล้ว แต่เป็นเพราะพ่อผมคงเดาน้ำหนักกระเป๋าผิดไป ดังนั้นป๊าจีงยกมันไม่ขี้นครับ ไม่แม้กระทั้งจับมันตั้งขี้น แล้วก็เป็นแม่ผมที่คลายความสงสัยให้กับผม ม้าสามารถยกกระเป๋าออกจากสายพาน และก็ลากมันมาที่ผมได้ อย่างรวดเร็ว ผมเหรอครับ ผมก็ยืนอมยิ้ม และแกล้งทำเป็นมองไม่เห็นม้ากับป๊าพยายามลากกระเป๋าอันแสนหนักอยู่ ส่วน ม้า ก็กำลังหัวเราะคิ๊กคัก บอกว่า

แม่ “เห็นมั้ยป๊าแกยกไม่ไหว แต่ม้ายกทีเดียวได้เลย”

ตอนนี้ผมก็ได้รู้แล้วว่า ป๊ากับม้านั้นแข็งแรงกันแค่ไหน แต่ เออ โทษทีนะม้า
